Teri Meredyth
Los Angeles, CA

"She's the best!", a phrase often used by Teri's clients when describing her abilitTeri Mereduthies as their piano technician and rebuilder. Enjoying a diverse and successful career, now spanning two decades, Teri balances her time between home service, shop work, and concert tuning.

Early on, Teri set her sights on the concert stage and has worked there successfully for the last ten years.  Considered one the premier concert technicians in Los Angeles, she is warmly welcomed at any venue. UCLA's Royce Hall has been her primary house, and the source of much growth over the years, both personally and professionally.  She also works actively for the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra and in a variety of recording settings, including film scoring.

Considered an expert voicer, she is often the only technician her professional clients will allow to work on their instruments.  Consulting has also been an important part of "Teri's business, including work for several piano manufacturers where she has successfully resolved many difficult situations. "Sometimes, it just takes a woman's touch", she's fond of saying.

Diagnosing difficult action problems has become another one of Teri's specialties. a drive to really understand how the piano works led her to study action geometry and design, and to take on those complicated jobs rejected by others. In addition to action work, she restores fine grands, including pinblock installation, soundboard repair/installation, and stringing. Teri considers it a good day when she can stay home in her compact workshop, listen to NPR, and take breaks to train her Belgian Sheepdog, Nelly.

Teri is active in the Piano technicians Guild (PTG) where she has held many offices, including Convention coordinator for the California State Board, in addition to teaching a variety of subjects at their local, state, and national technical seminars. She has invested much energy as a Certified Tuning Examiner, and is the Chairperson of the Southern California Area Examining Board, a post she has had since its inception in 1987.
